THE NEXT 50 YEARS: LEADING WITH TENACITY, COURAGE, AND PURPOSE The 2018 UnidosUS Annual Conference and 50th Anniversary Celebration served as a celebration of the organization’s half century of work in the civil rights field, as well as the Latino community’s accomplishments, both big and small. The Conference was also an opportunity to inspire and learn from the current and future leaders we need to attain equality for all.
A CONFERENCE FULL OF LEADERS AND RISING STARS The Next 50 Years: Leading with Tenacity, Courage, and Purpose Conference featured industry leaders and rising stars like former Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards; Silvia Olivas, co-executive producer and head writer of Disney’s Elena of Avalor; Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative Bryan Stevenson; Michelle Poler, founder of Hello Fears and creator of the 100 Days Without Fear Project; Ilia Calderon, anchor for Noticiero Univision; Elizabeth Acevedo, author of The Poet X; and more who inspired our attendees to keep fighting for the well-being of our community.
POWERFUL LEARNING EXPERIENCES Attendees took advantage of more than 40 workshops, three Plenary Sessions, and five General Sessions that inspired all to own their future and continue to advocate for and lead their communities.
